Delivering Safely: Swiggy and Chennai Traffic Police organize Road Safety Awareness Training for Delivery Executives!

Chennai – Swiggy (NSE: SWIGGY/BSE: 544285), India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, partnered with the Chennai city Police Tambaram Commissionerate to organize a session on Road Safety and Traffic Awareness for its delivery partners, under the ambit of Delivering Safely, its road safety charter.

The session, organized on the sidelines of the National Road Safety Month, aimed to sensitize delivery partners on safe driving practices, adherence to traffic rules, and the consequences of traffic violations. The session was organized under the leadership of Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr Sundarajan, and other senior traffic officials and saw participation from 100+ Swiggy delivery executives. The session focused on helmet safety and compliance, bike maintenance to prevent accidents, traffic violations and applicable penalties, awareness about wrong-side riding and illegal parking, importance of valid vehicle insurance, and strict consequences of drink and drive as well as road rage. The ACP shared real-life accident case studies to highlight serious consequences of unsafe driving penalties.

Under the Delivering Safely charter, Swiggy has been actively running road safety awareness programs across India in collaboration with local police departments. The sessions are conducted under the Delivering Safely charter by Swiggy, and focus on adherence to traffic regulations and reducing risky behaviours. In 2025, Swiggy organized multiple Road Safety Awareness sessions across cities including Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Patna, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Agartala, reaching thousands of delivery partners. In January 2026, Swiggy organized Road Safety Awareness sessions across a number of cities in the country, including Palakkad, Kochi, Delhi NCR and Ahmedabad, in partnership with the city traffic police departments.
